About Us
In 2009, amid a devastating economic downturn in Michigan, a small group comprised of individuals representing public and academic libraries and business support organizations in Washtenaw and Livingston counties came together to seek ways to grow the local economy. Its mission was to collaborate, cooperate, and consolidate by leveraging resources to support new and existing businesses.
Businesses access resources and support from libraries and librarians gain expertise from business owners and organizations. Partnerships and relationships are created on a grassroots level to serve both parties well.
This group breaks down silos, strengthens community bonds, and promotes education and economic growth. The model is spreading throughout Michigan and is now moving nationwide.
